FINALLY getting somewhere.
It's beginning to grow through consciousness and confidence.
Parasitic hive that grows from above, as if purposfully dropped.
It begins to manipulate the host once it has become structurally 'sound and safe' in terms of its relationship with the existing.
Controls the sites two primary sources of light, (Large light well, and also open back facade (does this face the sun?) grows its own access route in light well, teasing users of existing stairwell which becomes eventually becomes as false as the orignal facade. Its purpose is to maintain routine. parasite begins to prize open and expose part of existing in order to gain false sense of security.
Parasite hides with its sense of jagged symetery in relation to existing.
Chose of materials will be some kind of metal for the parasite which will be light strong, but the finish is to immitate that of existing concrete and stone in order not to be recognised. Also to blend in with existing exposed steels to false facade. (maybe manipulated in form)
Outside facde (facing courtyard) to be clad in local alabaster stone panels, which will blend in the day time. but night time it will burn, and glow with life. Also with the alabasters properties it will allow light to pass to host and its spaces in order to survive. (Parasite can not kill host, merely benifit from it.)
BACKGROUND STORY.
parastic uses existing as structural support.
controls two access routes, IN/OUT observes one (private)
from its access route second stairwell to hive it manipulates space and use with structural veins (metal beams, panels, meshes), (brings in food)
immitates its host to hide, with out slight difference in touch, and some appearance.

in partial reference to last post.
I don't actually need a 'blog', more of an online easily accessible journal, which i can record thoughts, concepts, reflection, plans ect.
here goes...
Current progress: Studio 2B, A la carte.
have current layout, although spaces and sizes subject to change, depending on form rather than function.
Last tutorial: Went well...
-tone works reall well
-your patio stairs need straightning
- maintance pod' old pushes the new. may need extending
-maybe try to look and make some models, they may help you
-hand draw your furniture so you don't lose the theme
-mad idea but love it
- chris understands your story by words but not by visual
- drawing will help both you and viewer to understand your space.
-LEAVE THE COMPUTER AND JUST DRAW!
Plans;
print of better perspectives and sketch on overlays.
I think this growing parasite or mutation must reflect its surroundings, mimics, hides.
I think at this point i must not worry about materials, but concentrate on form.
BE CONFIDENT IN MY ABILITY, something i keep getting told. Im trying.
Also it would be good for the new form to change in time. size, colour, shape ect. pleaching?

Time is of the essence. No time to edit, purely record.

Rogier van der Heide: Why light needs darkness
Quite an interesting take on light and darkness.
When he talks about the amount of wasted light in the world with the view from space of earth at night.
Could help develop my concept of lighting buildings with a single light source, therefore dividing the amount of wasted light by each space lit by the source.
